Only Raw Records: GTA 6's Vice City music scene explained

Rockstar has built one of GTA VI's two named business plots out of a record label. Four of the characters it has given official bios to — Dre'Quan Priest, Roxy, Bae-Luxe and DWNPLY — exist inside Vice City's rap scene, and a fifth, Boobie Ike, is the money behind it.

That is unusual for the series. GTA V's supporting cast were arranged around jobs; VI's Vice City half is arranged around a company. This is what is actually established about Only Raw Records and the people attached to it, eleven weeks out from launch on 19 November 2026.

Only Raw Records

The label is the fixed point everything else orbits. Rockstar's bio for Dre'Quan is headed "Only Raw… Records", and the label is his: he runs it, he signed Real Dimez to it, and Boobie Ike has money in it.

Two things are worth separating, because coverage tends to fuse them:

• Only Raw Records is Dre'Quan's label. He is the one who signs acts to it.
• Boobie Ike owns the recording studio. Rockstar's bio lists a recording studio among his businesses, alongside real estate and a strip club, and describes the Only Raw partnership as the investment he cares most about.

So the operation is split across two people with different exposure: Dre'Quan has the roster, Boobie has the building and the capital. Rockstar's own framing is that they now need a hit — which is a plot, not a description.

Dre'Quan Priest

Rockstar's bio does three things in three sentences.

He was always more hustler than gangster. The distinction is deliberate. Dre'Quan is not written as a criminal who developed a sideline in music; he is written as someone who was in the music business the whole time and funded it badly.

He dealt on the streets to make ends meet, and breaking into music was the goal. Dealing is the day job he is trying to leave, in the same structural position the Keys smuggling runs occupy for Jason Duval — the work that pays now against the life the character actually wants.

He books acts into Boobie's strip club, and thinks that is nearly over. Rockstar's phrasing is that his days of booking acts there might be numbered now that he has signed Real Dimez, as he sets his sights on the wider Vice City scene. The hedge is Rockstar's, not ours.

One detail is worth flagging because outlets have reported it inconsistently: whether Dre'Quan performs himself has not been established. Some coverage describes him as a musician who used to perform at Boobie's club; Rockstar's bio describes him booking other acts into it. Those are different characters. Until Rockstar publishes something that settles it, treat the promoter reading as the one with a source behind it.

Real Dimez

Real Dimez are Bae-Luxe and Roxy, friends since high school. Rockstar's bio is the most detailed of the four and gives them a career arc rather than a description.

They turned time spent shaking down local dealers into money through rap tracks and what Rockstar calls a relentless social media presence. That ordering matters: the crime came first and the music was built on top of it, which puts them closer to Dre'Quan's route than to a discovery story.

An early hit single with DWNPLY took them to new heights. Then nothing. Rockstar's bio skips forward five years and a whole lot of trouble to the present, where they are signed to Only Raw and hoping lightning strikes twice.

That five-year gap is the most load-bearing thing in any of these bios. Real Dimez are not a rising act — they are a lapsed one, on a second attempt, signed to a label that has not had a hit yet either. Rockstar also bios Roxy and Bae-Luxe individually rather than as a unit, which suggests the duo can come apart.

DWNPLY

Almost nothing about DWNPLY is confirmed. He is a local Vice City rapper, and he made the single that made Real Dimez, five years before the game opens. That is the entire officially established record.

A character whose only stated attribute is a favour done half a decade ago, to two people who have since signed elsewhere, is not usually introduced to stay off-screen. But that is inference, and we are not going to dress it up: Rockstar has published a name, a profession and one past collaboration.

Fan and wiki write-ups have filled the gap with a pronunciation, a producer credit, an underground-scene reputation and a real-world namesake. None of that traces back to Rockstar, and none of it belongs on this page as fact.

Boobie Ike, and who is actually paying

Rockstar describes Boobie as a local Vice City legend — one of the few to have turned time in the streets into a legitimate empire spanning real estate, a strip club and a recording studio. His club is the Jack of Hearts, and his bio leans on the pun: it is all about heart, and he is all smiles until it is time to talk business.

His stake in the music strand is not sentimental. Rockstar singles out the Only Raw partnership as the thing he is most invested in, which makes Dre'Quan's label the part of Boobie's empire with the most upside and the most exposure at once.

The Extended Look showed Jason and Lucia running a job on Boobie's behalf — walking into gang territory and talking rather than shooting. It is the clearest bridge Rockstar has shown between the Keys strand and the city, and it means the protagonists are already working for the man financing the label before either of them has met the label.

How Jason and Lucia fit

They do not, yet, in anything Rockstar has shown.

The music characters and the protagonists are established as inhabiting the same city and the same network — Boobie connects to Dre'Quan, Dre'Quan to Real Dimez, and Jason and Lucia to Boobie — but no mission involving Only Raw Records, the studio or Real Dimez has been shown. Whether the label is a mission strand, a set of side jobs, a property, or simply where several characters happen to work is unstated.

What the arrangement does suggest is a second escalation route running parallel to Raul Bautista's robbery jobs: one path where the money comes from taking it, and one where it comes from a hit record. Rockstar has confirmed neither structure.

The soundtrack is a separate question

Worth drawing a hard line here, because the two get conflated constantly.

The music scene above is fiction — characters, a label, a studio. The soundtrack is licensed music on radio stations, and Rockstar has published almost nothing about it.

What is officially established:

Appearing in a trailer is not the same as being on an in-game radio station, and Rockstar has not said otherwise about any of these.

A soundtrack partner has since been named. On 17 September 2026 Rockstar and Atlantic Records announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album — 34 original tracks made for the game, with six released immediately — and what that announcement does and does not establish is a piece of its own. The short version belongs here: an album of new music is not a radio line-up. Rockstar has still published no station list, no station count and no host names. A widely repeated report that DJ Khaled hosts a station remains a report.

There is also a large volume of radio and soundtrack material circulating from the ongoing leaks. It is not sourced from Rockstar, we will not repeat it, and nothing in it should be read as confirmed.

What is still not confirmed

The entire structure of the music strand. No mission, no studio interior, no indication of whether Only Raw is a place you visit or a name you hear.

Whether Real Dimez survive the game. Rockstar bios Roxy and Bae-Luxe separately, and the bio's whole lot of trouble is doing work it has not explained.

What DWNPLY wants. A five-year-old favour and no stated position.

Whether any of this is playable in a business sense. Rockstar has confirmed nothing about property or business ownership in GTA VI at all, so a player-owned label or studio is speculation, however natural it feels.

The cast. Rockstar has published no credits for GTA VI. The state of the casting rumours across the whole roster is in our confirmed cast guide, and none of the music characters has even a plausible fan identification attached.
