GTA 6 characters: the full confirmed cast so far
Rockstar has now named eleven characters across Vice City and the Keys. Here is every one of them, what their official bios establish, how they connect to Jason and Lucia, and what is known about who plays them.

Grand Theft Auto VI is built around two protagonists rather than three — and unlike GTA V's largely separate lives, Jason and Lucia are written as a pair. Rockstar has framed them as a Bonnie-and-Clyde partnership, which changes how the story can be structured.
Rockstar has now given official bios to eleven characters. Here is all of them, grouped by where they sit in the story rather than by billing, because the cast splits cleanly into two worlds that Jason and Lucia move between.
The protagonists
Jason Duval
Jason grew up around grifters and crooks. A stint in the Army was meant to put distance between him and a troubled adolescence; it did not take, and he came out of it working for drug runners in the Leonida Keys instead.
That background is doing specific work. Jason is not a career criminal who chose the life so much as someone who has never been outside it long enough to develop other options. Rockstar's own framing of him is ex-military and a drug runner, in that order — the second thing following from the first rather than replacing it.
In the material shown so far he is the more reactive half of the pair. He wants an easy life, and keeps making the choices that guarantee the opposite.
We go through his background, his place in Brian Heder's operation and the state of the voice-casting rumours in who is Jason Duval.
Lucia Caminos
Lucia's father taught her to fight when she was young. Fighting for her family is what put her in Leonida Penitentiary, which is where the story finds her.
That is a meaningfully different origin from Jason's. His circumstances closed in on him; hers came from an act of loyalty. Rockstar describes her as a fighter fresh out of prison, and on the evidence of the trailers she is the one with a plan — the half of the partnership steering rather than reacting.
She is also the first playable woman in a mainline Grand Theft Auto, which we cover in full in who is Lucia Caminos.
The Keys: Jason's world
Brian Heder
Rockstar places Brian as a classic drug runner left over from the golden age of smuggling in the Keys — an era that has ended around him without him agreeing to it. Jason works for him, which makes Brian the closest thing Jason has to a boss and, from the footage, something nearer a mentor.
He runs what remains of the operation out of a boat yard and is refusing to retire quietly.
We go through the arrangement he has with Jason, Lori's place in it and what the Keys operation actually is in Brian Heder and the Keys.
Lori
Brian's third and current wife, working alongside him at the boat yard. Rockstar has shown her handling both a rifle and a pistol, which puts her closer to the operation than the word wife usually signals in a Rockstar setup.
She is one of the two most recently named characters and among the least developed publicly so far.
Cal Hampton
Jason's friend and a fellow associate of Brian's. Cal is happiest at home with a few beers, a stack of private browser tabs, and a radio tuned to Coast Guard chatter.
He is the comic register of the cast and, reportedly, right far more often than is comfortable for anyone around him. Listening to the Coast Guard is also not an idle hobby for a group of people moving product by boat.
Cal has no piece of his own yet. What Rockstar has actually confirmed about him is on his character page.
Vice City: the other half
Boobie Ike
A Vice City legend, and by Rockstar's account one of the few to have turned time in the streets into a legitimate empire — real estate, a strip club called the Jack of Hearts, and a recording studio. He is all smiles until it is time to talk business.
The investment Rockstar says he cares most about is Only Raw Records, the label run by Dre'Quan Priest. We go through that partnership and the rest of the music strand in Only Raw Records and the Vice City music scene.
The Extended Look showed Jason and Lucia running a job on his behalf, which makes him one of the clearer bridges between the Keys and the city.
His holdings, and what is confirmed about each of them, are on his character page.
Dre'Quan Priest
A rising music mogul turning Vice City's sound into a business, and collecting the enemies that come attached. He runs Only Raw Records — the label Real Dimez are signed to, backed by Boobie — which puts him at the centre of the cast's music-industry strand.
Rockstar's bio has him more hustler than gangster, dealing on the streets to fund an ambition that was always musical, and booking acts into Boobie's club while he waits for the label to land a hit.
Real Dimez
Roxy and Bae-Luxe, a rap duo signed to Dre'Quan's label and climbing fast enough to attract attention they may not want. Rockstar bios them individually rather than as a unit, which suggests they are not interchangeable in the story.
DWNPLY
A local Vice City rapper who collaborated with Real Dimez on the viral single that made them, five years before the game begins — he is, in effect, why Roxy and Bae-Luxe have careers at all.
Rockstar has shown almost nothing else about him. A character defined entirely by a favour done half a decade ago is usually being set up to collect on it.
The label, the duo and the studio are covered in full in Only Raw Records: the Vice City music scene.
Raul Bautista
An experienced bank robber who pulls Jason and Lucia into jobs several sizes larger than anything they have run alone. If you are looking for the character who escalates the plot from small-time to the kind of thing the story is actually about, it is almost certainly him.
Rockstar's bio is blunt about where that goes: his recklessness raises the stakes with every score, until his crew has to double down or walk. The Extended Look showed Jason and Lucia driving a getaway for him after an off-screen bank job, with Brian Heder making the introduction. What that does and does not establish about heists is covered in Raul Bautista and the heist question.
Who plays them
Rockstar has still not published a cast list. No credits, no casting announcements, nothing official — which is normal for them this far out.
One name is no longer inference. Stephen Root told the Associated Press on 13 September 2026 that he is in the game, and the reporting from that interview places him as Brian Heder — the first GTA VI role any actor has confirmed. It came from the actor, not from Rockstar, which has published nothing.
Manni L. Perez is still only widely believed to be Lucia, on a mix of resemblance, details spotted around the marketing, and changes to her public professional listings after speculation began. That is a fan identification and nothing more; claims that she has confirmed it herself circulate on social accounts and are carried by no reputable outlet. Nobody is confirmed for Jason either.
Root's confirmation does not settle any of the others, and we will not describe them as fact until they are stated on the record. The full state of the casting, name by name, is in the GTA 6 voice cast.
What a two-hander changes
Three protagonists in GTA V meant three largely separate lives that the game cut between. Two protagonists written as a couple is a different structure: both leads can be present in the same scene, and Rockstar has confirmed you can swap between them mid-mission, playing as a pair or splitting off to cause chaos independently.
The Extended Look showed switching happening without explaining the rules, but Rockstar North's co-studio head Rob Nelson has since spelled them out in preview interviews: outside missions you swap freely, and inside missions it varies — some lock you to one character, some force a switch, some leave it open. Where the story needs a specific perspective, Rockstar restricts the swap deliberately. See how character switching works for the full breakdown.
The relationship between the two is a system in its own right, and one you can neglect. It cannot be broken — they remain partners in crime whatever you do — but whether they end the story as a couple is player-determined.
