Take-Two reports on 9 November — ten days before GTA 6, in the slot that carried the last delay
Take-Two confirmed on 13 October that it publishes second-quarter results on Monday 9 November. The quarter closed before the game goes on sale, so the numbers contain no Grand Theft Auto VI revenue at all. Here is what that date can actually produce, what it cannot, and why the same slot in last year's calendar is the reason anyone is watching it.

Take-Two has put a date on its next set of results: Monday 9 November 2026, after the American market closes, with a call at 4.30pm Eastern. The company announced it on 13 October. It is ten days before Grand Theft Auto VI goes on sale on 19 November, and it is now the last fixed corporate date on the calendar before the game ships.
That is the whole of the news. Nothing about Grand Theft Auto VI has been announced for that day, and an earnings date is not a scheduled announcement of anything. It is worth writing down anyway, for two reasons: the quarter being reported contains none of the game's money, which is not how it is being described, and the equivalent date last year is the day the game was delayed.
What was actually announced
| Announced | 13 October 2026 |
| Results published | Monday 9 November 2026, after the US market close |
| Conference call | 4.30pm Eastern Time, webcast on Take-Two's investor site |
| Period covered | Second quarter of fiscal 2027 — the three months ended 30 September 2026 |
A press release giving the date of a future press release is routine corporate scheduling, issued by every listed company weeks ahead. It carries no product information and was not presented as carrying any.
The quarter contains no GTA VI money
This is the part that keeps being got wrong, and it follows from the calendar rather than from anything anyone has said.
Take-Two's financial year ends on 31 March. The quarter being reported on 9 November closed on 30 September 2026 — seven weeks before the game goes on sale. Grand Theft Auto VI falls into the following quarter, which ends on 31 December and is reported in February 2027.
| Quarter | Period | Reported | Contains GTA VI sales |
|---|---|---|---|
| Q1 FY2027 | Apr–Jun 2026 | 7 August 2026 | No |
| Q2 FY2027 | Jul–Sep 2026 | 9 November 2026 | No |
| Q3 FY2027 | Oct–Dec 2026 | February 2027 | Yes — the first time |
So 9 November cannot tell you how Grand Theft Auto VI is selling, and February is the first occasion on which a number for the game exists in a Take-Two filing. Pre-orders are deferred revenue; they do not become net bookings on the day somebody places them.
What the release will contain is the company's view of the year as a whole. Take-Two has guided to $8.0 to $8.2 billion in net bookings for fiscal 2027 — a figure that depends on the game shipping inside the year — and has reiterated it at each set of results since. Whether that range survives contact with the quarter is the actual financial question on 9 November.
Why this particular date is being watched
Because of what happened on the matching date a year ago.
On 6 November 2025, Take-Two published its second-quarter results and announced in the same release that Grand Theft Auto VI was moving from 26 May 2026 to 19 November 2026. The quarter itself was strong — net bookings of about $1.96 billion, ahead of guidance — and the shares still fell more than 6% after hours, because the delay was the news. The full delay record sets out what was said each time.
That is not an isolated case. Red Dead Redemption's late delay in 2010 was also announced through a Take-Two earnings release rather than by Rockstar. When this company has moved a Rockstar date from close range, it has tended to do it attached to results.
Two things have to be said immediately after that, because the inference writes itself and it is not a sound one.
- The pattern is structural, not predictive. Take-Two reports on a fixed quarterly calendar. Early November is simply when its second quarter lands, every single year. A delay announced in that window is a delay announced when the company was next going to speak regardless; it is not evidence that the window produces delays.
- Nothing suggests the date is at risk. Rockstar has not hinted at a third delay, no reporting from anyone with a record of being right says one is coming, and the date has been reaffirmed repeatedly since November 2025 — most recently in the pipeline table of Take-Two's own quarterly releases.
There is also a practical collision worth noting. Preload opens on 12 November, three days after the results. A company intending to move a release date does not ordinarily let the download begin three days later, which is a reason to expect a reaffirmation rather than a surprise.
What these calls have actually produced
The recent record is a useful guide to what 9 November will and will not yield, because Take-Two's answers on this game have been consistent to the point of formula.
| Asked | What Take-Two has said |
|---|---|
| How many pre-orders? | Zelnick called demand "unprecedented and astonishing" and declined to give a number — "we haven't sold one unit yet" |
| Will you raise guidance on the strength of it? | The $8.0–8.2 billion range was reiterated, not raised |
| Is there a PC version? | Platform strategy in general terms, no commitment — the full record is in the PC release piece |
| Is the date holding? | Reaffirmed each time, in the release's own pipeline table |
The pattern is a company that talks warmly and quantifies nothing. Take-Two has never published a GTA VI pre-order figure and has explicitly refused to, on the stated grounds that it does not claim victory in advance. Anyone expecting a unit number on 9 November is expecting a break with the position the chief executive has held all year.
That refusal is why the pre-order totals circulating in late October — 6.45 million, $630 million — come from an analytics firm rather than from the publisher. What those estimates measure, and what they leave out, is a separate question from this date.
It is also not a venue for product detail. Install size, review embargo, unlock time and the online component are Rockstar's to announce, and none of them has ever been announced on an investor call.

The date joins a month that was already crowded.

A correction to an earlier page
This supersedes something this site published in September. Our write-up of Take-Two's shareholder meeting said the 17 September annual meeting was the last fixed date on the corporate calendar before launch, and that the next quarterly results would fall after the game was out. That was wrong, and it has been corrected on that page in both languages. The results fall ten days before launch, not after it.
A note on sourcing
Rockstar's own site and most of the games press are unreachable from where this was written, so the details above are taken from Take-Two's investor announcement of 13 October as relayed through its syndicated copies and its investor-relations listing, and from reporting of the August 2026 and November 2025 results. We have not read the 13 October press release on Take-Two's own site first-hand. The date, the time and the quarter covered are consistent across every copy of it we could reach.

GTA 6 has 6.45 million pre-orders — except nobody at Rockstar counted them
The pre-order figure running everywhere this week comes from Sensor Tower, a third-party analytics firm, not from Rockstar or Take-Two. The arithmetic holds together better than most circulating numbers. What it measures, what it leaves out, and why the company that knows the real total has refused to publish it.

Rockstar's most senior witness: what Jennifer Kolbe told the union tribunal on 16 October
The last sitting day before the Glasgow tribunal breaks until November produced evidence from the most senior Rockstar figure to appear in the case. She denied that Sam Houser screams at staff, said the company is not anti-union, and called it absolutely untrue that she had known about the union Discord for years. The games press did not cover any of it.

The $1 billion GTA 6 sick day: where the number came from, and what it actually measures
A projection that 1.5 million Americans will skip work on 19 November and cost the US economy $1 billion is running everywhere. It is one economist's estimate, not a survey finding — and the two figures printed alongside each other do not multiply together. What the real survey asked, and what Rockstar has said about any of it.
